Roommate Situation: This apartment is on the 2nd floor of a modern-looking walkup on a very pleasant tree-lined street on which there's a great view of the Empire State Building. The location is prime: Safe and cool, it's a mix of residential and restaurant/bar destination, drawing on the best of both worlds - it's placid during the day without being boring, fun at night without being chaotic, there's lots of nice houses and buildings on the Streets and all sorts of trendy bars and good restaurants (it's as if every other one is Zagat rated) on the Avenues. The Murray Hill crowd tends to be youngractive, and relatively well-to-do.
Of course, commuting to work from here is really easy, on the 6 train, especially if you work in Midtown.
Each available bedroom (of which there are 2) is medium-sized, around 10x10 to 11x11. My own room, which is about the same size, fits a full size bed, nightstand, and 2 dressers, with plenty of space left in the middle. One of the bedrooms has a door leading to the large private terrace, which is awesome for hanging out. Although whoever gets that room will clearly have more access to the terrace, it'd be great to find somebody who's willing to share reasonably (as in the rest of us won't just barge through your room).
The living room also has plenty of space, and currently only has a couple chairs I brought, and an ugly carpet and table the previous tenants left. They also left a futon frame which is pretty nice, and needs a pad. The kitchen is small, and the refrigerator will be placed closer to the living room. The bathroom is nice and has a window. The floors, walls, and lights have been redone, so the apartment looks like new.
As for myself, I'm male, straight, 25 y/o, from California, and I'm totally laid back and no-drama. I keep things neat, and I definitely like a clean bathroom. I work in midtown as a strategic planner, and usually I go to Brooklyn after work for ballroom dance training. I have a great, if politically incorrect, sense of humor that can be lots of fun once you get to know me. And finally, I've lived with 3 girls before moving into this apartment (like 2 weeks ago), and everything went great, so I'm a good roommate for either gender.
